The Lighthouse Psychology Developmental Assessment Clinic provides comprehensive assessments for children under 5 years of age where there are concerns about their development. Early intervention is best tailored to children when sufficient information has been obtained through an age-appropriate, standardised assessment. Our assessment team is very experienced at performing these assessments with this specific age group.
At the Lighthouse Psychology Assessment Developmental Clinic, we specialise in the assessment of young children (from 1 year to 5 years old) who may present with language delay, developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder and intellectual disability. We also specialise in assessing anxiety, behavioural and emotional concerns within a range of developmental presentations so as to help families to better understand their child. Our goal is to support families to help their children reach their potential and be the best version of themselves.

Communication and interaction with others
At the Lighthouse Psychology Assessment Developmental Clinic, we use a range of assessment tools. The assessment process typically involves an initial consultation with parents to get a full developmental history and understand the challenges of each child. Next, there is a specific and tailored assessment of the child to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Finally, we conduct a feedback session with parents where the findings and results of the assessment are outlined and recommendations for the next steps are discussed along with any appropriate referrals.
Our team includes a Developmental Paediatrician, Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Neuropsychologists with a wealth of experience and knowledge. Our goal is to provide information so that each child can reach their potential.
