Lighthouse Child and Adolescent Psychology offers a range of group programs. Lighthouse’s psychologists and educational specialists are very experienced in providing parents with a learning environment that is supportive and caring as well as being highly practical and solutions orientated.

Parent Groups offer parents of children and adolescents the opportunity for guidance and strategies to improve their daily lives and in doing so set their families up for future success and happiness.

Here at Lighthouse, we try to take a holistic approach to the prevention and treatment of mental health issues. Rather than being the ambulance at the bottom of the cliff we want to be able to help children, parents and families in a preventive way.

Our groups program is about providing early intervention guidance to help parents help their children before small problems become a crisis or that they become chronic presentations.

Our groups program is a way of Lighthouse being able to reach a larger audience (up to 12 people in a group setting) and it offers two experienced facilitators to use evidence-based strategies and techniques to facilitate learnings and shared experiences.

The group setting also provides members with the opportunity to learn and change from the therapists and facilitators as well as from other group members who have similar challenges and situations. There is also the added benefit of the support that comes from the larger group.
